WILLYS COUPE AND ROADSTER PACKAGES
Since our roots in Clayton Custom Cars began 15 years ago we have been building a better Willys. We provide our customs with a chassis and body for both the 1940/1941 Willys Coupe and Roadster. These are sold separately or assembled in a roller package.
For most people, starting with a rolling assembly is simply the best way to build a Willys. The engineering and fabricating is done and our roller packages are designed to take the headache and guess work out of your do-it-yourself custom street rod. Exquisite finished cars are only 60 to 80 hours of plumbing, wiring and assembly from their first shakedown drive!
Once we started providing our customers with a canvas, they took them and created their own works of art. It soon became apparent that photographers and editors like to put them in magazines. Our vehicles have received hundreds of car show awards all across the country and have been featured in high profile industry publications such as Rod & Custom and Street Rodding magazines.
Eastern Rod and Customs' Coupe is patterned off the original steel body car. Enhancements have been made without sacrificing authenticity. The fiberglass bodies are laminated using state of the art processes and technology and are delivered in a polished, high gloss, gel coat finish. Floors and bulkheads are installed in our alignment fixtures, insuring consistency in chassis mount up. Bodies are reinforced in key high stress areas such as the hinge and latch mounting points. Structural tubing is also used under the dash and in the quarter panels—adding rigidity, while providing mounting points for key components. The body is delivered with the doors installed using hidden hinges, Bear Claw latches and strikers. Tinted Tempered side windows, with power window regulators are installed. Tinted safety glass front and rear is installed using OEM style rubber seals.
In addition to this, the body in a rolling assembly is actually built on the chassis it is delivered with. Thanks to this approach, no shimming is required for proper door fit. When the body is removed for underside paint and further work on the chassis, it more often than not requires no adjustment when bolted back onto the frame.
15 years is a long time for specializing in producing top quality 1941 Willys roller packages, and for the same amount of time Eastern Rod and Customs has also been building them as full turn-key production vehicles where the customer has design control of every aspect of the build. With virtually every stage of the build done in-house, our customers play a vital role in the design, function, and performance of there Willys Coupe or Roadster.
Of course Eastern Rod and Customs has extensive experience in full turn-key restoration of all vintage and classic automobiles, both fiberglass and steel. The project cars for customers we have transformed range from the 1930's to the 1970's. With full frame off restoration capabilities, Eastern Rod and Customs has earned a reputation as one of the top custom fabrication and restoration facilities in the country.
